At the same time, the Italian pavilion is also the only national pavilion to appear at the 2023 China International Bakery Exhibition.
Italian baking machinery makes a stunning appearance
The Italian baking industry has a long history, and high-quality Italian pastries and other baked products are popular all over the world. From 2017 to 2021, the scale of China's baking machinery market increased from RMB 3.1 billion to RMB 4.1 billion, with a compound annual growth rate of about 7.5%. Data shows that by 2026, the scale of China's baking machinery market is expected to reach RMB 6 billion, with a five-year compound growth rate of 7.9%. Italy has become the third largest source of imports of baking machinery in China, with import value increasing by 54.8% year-on-year in 2022.

Wonderful opening, exchange and mutual learning
On May 22, the opening ceremony of the 25th China International Baking Exhibition was officially held, and the scene was crowded and lively. Augusto Di Giacinto (Di Jiaqing), Chief Representative of the Italian Trade Commission Shanghai Office, came to the opening site and, together with the Italian exhibitors, sent good wishes to Italy for this exhibition and wished the exhibition a smooth run.
The long-term friendly trade and technical exchanges between China and Italy are inseparable from the long-term and unremitting efforts of the Trade Commission and the Consulate. On May 23, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in the Italian Pavilion. Important guests including Tiziana D’Angelo, Consul General of the Italian Consulate General in Shanghai, Augusto Di Giacinto, Chief Representative of the Italian Trade Commission Shanghai Office, Zhu Nianlin, Executive Director of the China Bakery and Confectionery Industry Association, and Li Chao, Deputy General Manager of Sinopharm Exhibitions, delivered opening speeches.
